Taking your own photographs of healthy, nutritious food is not only cost-effective but can also enhance your google ratings and increase your followers and reputation.

If you’re thinking of setting up your website, food blog or using social media to drive followers to your posts, creating your healthy food photos is a skill you’ll never forget. This course will change the way you think about healthy food photography.

This workshop will teach you how to choose the best angle, compose your shot, explore different food photographic techniques, professional food styling tips and which props sell.

You will also learn which format, size and layout best suits the online channel, how to increase search engine optimisation, what equipment works well, and how to create stunning backdrops and fail-safe techniques.

Plus much more on how to make your food look healthier, colour enhancements and lighting effects.

This course is suitable for already recently qualified nutritionists, Registered Nutritionists, Registered Associate Nutritionists and those just about to complete their accredited course and apply for registration. A Registered Nutritionist runs the course with 30 years of experience. The system can count 3.5 hours towards your CPD.

Presenter and Speaker Details

Healthy food photography will be presented by Kathy Lewis, Registered Nutritionist, Food Photography Tutor, Author, Consultant Editor, Chartered Marketer and Entrepreneur. She has She will share all her tips and techniques on how to take delicious-looking healthy food photos suitable for websites and social media.

Kathy has held a portfolio career for 30 years, which has included advising catering businesses on healthy food options, restaurant food styling and photography, author and editor, advertising, web design, and social media marketing. She regularly tutors nutrition student interns on food photography at The Caroline Walker Trust and loves showing them the techniques of food styling and photography.

She currently chairs the Caroline Walker Trust, is the Chair of the World’s Healthiest Afternoon Tea and was a founding Trustee and member at the Association for Nutrition along with the VRN committee at the Nutrition Society. She also Chaired a Chartered Institute of Marketing Market Interest Board for many years and was a board member of the CIM Food, Drink and Agriculture.

Her entrepreneurial interests include setting up nutrition, wellbeing and commercial consultancies, where she has developed several online ventures. Before this, Kathy also worked on contracts for local councils in nutrition and health promotion. She also consulted with small catering establishments, gyms and food manufacturers on food labelling, product development and nutrition consultant. Kathy has worked with private clients on a one-to-one basis analysing diets and advising on nutrition. Before this, she worked in a multi-national diet clinic and has organised over 100 professional events, including international, online conferences, CPD and in-house client events.

Kathy is a speaker on many subjects for companies, charities and wellbeing events, author of several publications and a former consulting editor at Reader’s Digest. She also writes for company newsletters, popular magazines and online articles. Her specialist fields include employee vitality and wellbeing, nutrition on the go, buying behaviours and healthy options.
