Become a successful Freelance Nutritionist. Learn about sources of funding, where to find contracts and how to create a steady cash flow.

Starting out as a Freelance Nutritionist can be daunting. You will need start-up capital, a regular income and a well-paid mode of operation.

This workshop will teach you how to set up as a Freelance Nutritionist with the necessary funding, how to apply for grants, places that offer sponsorship and where to find investment capital.

You will also learn how to break even quicker, what services or products will give you a higher return on investment (time and resources), where to look for part-time contracts and how to generate sufficient cash to ensure you have adequate cash flow to survive.
This course is suitable for already Registered Nutritionists, Registered Associate Nutritionists and those just completing their accredited course and about to apply for registration. This three hour course will count towards your CPD.

We currently have two dates for this course.  Numbers are restricted in size to allow for interaction, personal guidance as well as questions and answers.

Presenter and Speaker Details

Funding and Cashflow for Freelance Nutritionists will be presented by Kathy Lewis, Director, Trustee, Registered Nutritionist, Small Business Advisor, Management Consultant, Chartered Marketer and Entrepreneur.

Kathy has held a portfolio career for 30 years, advising businesses, working in finance, marketing, and strategy for large multinationals, including banking and communications, charities, non-profits, and small businesses. In addition to her Master’s in Business, she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science and a Master’s in Psychology and Health Promotion.

Kathy has been a business advisor to small businesses in food and nutrition and charities such as the Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy. She currently chairs The Caroline Walker Trustee and was a founding Trustee and member at the Association for Nutrition along with the VRN committee at the Nutrition Society. She also chaired the Chartered Institute of Marketing Financial Service Board for many years, was a board member of the CIM Food, Drink and Agriculture and was a long-standing Trustee at the Association for MBAs.

Her entrepreneurial interests include setting up nutrition, wellbeing and commercial consultancies, where she has developed several online ventures. Before this, Kathy also worked on contracts for local councils in nutrition and health promotion. She also consulted with small catering establishments, gyms and food manufacturers on food labelling, product development and nutrition consultant. Kathy has worked with private clients on a one to one basis analysing diets and advising on nutrition. Before this, she worked in a multi-national diet clinic and has organised over 100 professional events, including international, online, conferences, CPD and in-house client events.

Kathy is a speaker on many subjects for companies, charities and wellbeing events, and author of several publications and a former editor at Reader’s Digest. She also writes for company newsletters, popular magazines and online articles. Her specialist field is on employee vitality and wellbeing, nutrition on the go, buying behaviours, healthy options and maladaptive coping behaviours.
